In the Darkness I Stand

Up I rose from the shadows deep,

With a thought in my heart that refused to sleep.

How long must I give, must I sacrifice,

While the world spins on, cold yet nice?

Have I gained or lost along the way?

These questions no longer lead me astray.

What’s the reason for my soul’s persistence?

Why do I even write this sentence?

People came, and people go,

But here I stand, untouched by the flow.

Am I the one who’s lost in this land,

Or is it the world that slips through my hand?

In this silence, who will show me the way?

Is there a light to end this endless gray?

Or do I find strength in standing still,

Embracing the void, bending to my will?
